Saving Lives with Defibrillators
Start-A-Heart 24:7 is dedicated to providing life-saving defibrillators to our local community. We aim to ensure that everyone has access to the essential equipment and training needed to respond effectively in emergencies, making our community a safer place for all.
What We've Achieved
Start-A-Heart 24:7 is committed to enhancing the safety and well-being of our local community by supporting them to install external defibrillators and to facilitate essential training. Our mission is to equip every community member with the tools and knowledge needed to respond swiftly and effectively in emergency situations, ultimately saving lives.
We have successfully installed over 150 defibrillators in the Rotherham borough and a further 50 in other areas of South Yorkshire, ensuring that life-saving equipment is always within reach.
This funding allows us to continue our mission of providing life-saving defibrillators and training to our community.
All our external defibrillators are accessible 24/7, providing round-the-clock support and reassurance to the community in case of sudden cardiac arrest.
A message from Trish, our founder
In 2013 my husband died of a cardiac arrest whilst at a Rotary meeting despite a consultant cardiologist working on him within seconds of his collapse. Sadly there was no defibrillator available at the venue.
Stuart was much loved and respected through his work with Rotary, Young Carers and Amateur Theatre so it was entirely appropriate that something positive should come out of his passing. He was a dearly loved husband, father, grandfather and best friend. Stuart helped so many people throughout his life and it is a comfort to us all to feel that this is still happening.
I am so grateful for all the support we have received over the years from diverse groups and individuals who have supported us in our endeavours to make Rotherham a town where potential survival from a cardiac arrest is a reality.
